Sand Cement Screed

Simply consists of sand mixed with cement and water to a semi-dry consistency such that it can be shovelled, trowelled and levelled into place. It can be delivered from a factory or mixed on-site. Labour intensive typically slow drying and relies on the skill of the trade on site.

Liquid Screed

Liquid Screed or Flow, Flowing Screed.

Our preferred material and method of installation, they are modern screeds designed to suit many situations. They are pumped in, self levelling, quick to lay and with fast drying times and produce a high quality finish and are suitable for under floor heating systems.

They come in several forms (All to the BS EN 13454 standard).

  • Anhydrite Screed – Calcium Sulphate (Gypsum) based, vast range of applications with varying properties, includinglow minimum thickness, drying times, thermal, acoustic and wearing properties.
  • Cementious Screeds – As the name suggests based on a cement mix, similar properties to the above but in general with less variations available.
  •  Self compacting Concrete – Concrete based, structural flooring can also be a one stop solution to also act as the floor slab.

Self Leveling compound

Self Levelling compound or Bagged Screed usually used for thin applications, sold in bags, mixed on site and installed by hand. They are often used on existing floors to repair or before a floor finish is laid, not as easy as you think to install!
